About The Norfolk Explorer

The Norfolk Explorer is a blog dedicated to all things Norfolk – food, drink, activities and guides for everything you need.

My name is Hayley and I have lived in Norfolk for over 20 years, moving with my family from Hertfordshire when I was 9. We settled in a very small village called Great Bircham, not far from Sandringham, and I spent my pre-teens playing treehouses and stalking the countryside with my brother.

We then moved to the coastal town of Hunstanton, I got my first weekend job serving ice cream and met my now husband whilst attending the College of West Anglia in King’s Lynn. We moved to Norwich for university in 2011 and we have lived here ever since, eventually buying a house and putting down roots in 2017. The vibrancy, independent spirit and walkable size makes it the perfect spot for us. And still only a stones throw away from the gorgeous coastline and wonderful Norfolk Broads.

I’ve spent many days out in this fine county, so let me share with you the best guides, things to do, places to eat and drink.

If you have any questions, feel free to pop me a message!

I’m Hayley

Welcome to The Norfolk Explorer!

I am from (you guessed it) Norfolk in the UK, and I love to explore, so this is a blog dedicated to all the places I have been and continue to travel to.

It features the very best things to do, some great places to eat and some off the beaten track spots for you to get inspired by as you plan your travels.

And I’m a huge lover of the outdoors, so expect to see some recommendations for walks, swims and climbs!
